Costumed Figure Drawing

Led by Harriet Brittaine.

A unique opportunity to draw a figure in costume, in this case a boxer. Shorter action poses in the morning will be followed with longer resting poses in the afternoon to allow students to work up one or two pieces of work.

Summer Art Week

Led by Michaela Clarke.

This year's theme is Around the World.

Work on individual craft activities with lots of messy materials and then work together on a group art project. Group projects include world landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Pyramids.

Visit a different continent each day and make individual crafts like a mask from Africa, piñata from South America, boomerangs from Australia, clay Greek urn from Europe and Chinese dragon from Asia.

Suitable for ages 8+ years.

The Fine Detail

Led by Jo Hall.

Draw a feather and a leaf or shell in pencil. Using the simplest of means, draw these small objects in pencil on hot pressed watercolour paper or other smooth paper. Techniques of line, hatching and cross hatching and continuous tone will be explained. Reference material will be supplied.

Please bring a small drawing board and your own pencils and a craft knife or pencil sharpener. Paper will be available from the tutor at cost.

Make paper cloth sheets using recycled papers, then create a book cover, pouch or collage using them. A fun class with lots of scope for experimenting with inks and paints.
