Geoff Norcott - I Blame the Parents

The fourth national tour for Geoff Norcott, following on the back of Conswervative, Traditionalism and Taking Liberties.

This time Geoff talks less politics (alright, there will probably be a bit), but this brand-new show will mostly explore personal responsibility, parenting and who should take the blame when things go wrong.

Whatever happened to the idea of personal responsibility? In the age of victimhood, it seems like whatever’s wrong with your life it can be blamed on someone else. Governments, employers… some bigot from four hundred years ago.

Where did it go wrong? It has to be the parents. Every generation there’s an opportunity for a new set of mums and dads to set their kids straight and make a stand against whatever trendy nonsense is currently doing the rounds. But do we? Or is it easier to give into fear and the pursuit of a quiet life?

Geoff has realised he’s also a bag of contradictions. Raised on a south London council estate by two maverick parents, there’s plenty he has to sift through. His Dad was a trade union man who obsessed over stocks and shares. His mum was a closet chauvinist and far too frank on the subject of sex.

With a child of his own, Geoff spies a one-off chance for his family to finally get it right and produce a balanced human being, but can he filter out his own bollocks before it gets to his son?

WHY? 'Sets himself apart from the liberal commentariat with a sharp self-knowing wit ★★★★ The Times

Hundred Watt Club - A Right Royal Evening of Burlesque

Join Hundred Watt Club as they return to Norden Farm to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee with a burlesque and variety show that the Queen could only dream of!

Prepare to be teased by the cream of the glittering UK burlesque scene, to roll in the aisles at riotous comedy and be awestruck by incredible circus stunts. No two Hundred Watt Club shows are the same, so expect the unexpected, but be ready for a good old-fashioned, bawdy and champagne soaked variety show all tied up in a feisty, tongue in cheek ribbon!

The Lowdown: Not for the fainthearted, this show employs and embraces adult themes, strong language and partial nudity with gusto. No refunds if it's simply 'not to your taste'!! Over 18s only. Glamorous, vintage attire is encouraged (we love it when you dress up!) but not enforced; wear what you're comfy in. Show starts at 8pm and includes an interval.

'Old school mischief and timeless raunchiness collide at the Hundred Watt Club. Hats - and corsets - off to Lena Mae for an excellent night of entertainment' Sussex Express

'Crude and unpleasant... for crude and unpleasant people' Seetickets review

'Harking back to the gin drenched halcyon days of a grimy Berlin nightclub in the 1930s, Hundred Watt Club sparkles, fizzles and shines brightly on a dark night' Fringe Review (Brighton)

Ania Magliano

Ania is a rising star in on the comedy circuit and has written for Frankie Boyle’s New World Order (BBC2), Newsjack (BBC R4), The Now Show (BBC R4) and is one of the 4 regular writers on the Have I Got News For You Twitter account. The show charted 12th in the UK Top Podcast charts, was recommended by Great British Podcasts, regularly featured in Apple’s New and Noteworthy list and was highlighted in Cosmopolitan’s Top 55 Podcasts. Rich Hall's Hoedown Deluxe

Rich Hall’s comedy/music locomotive keeps on rollin’.

Ever-evolving, ever-changing, Rich’s combination of keen acerbic stand-up combined with spit and sawdust alt-country lyricism is a 'win-win' (Guardian), as sold out crowds across the UK have attested. Fans keep returning because this show goes where other comedians wouldn’t dare: Barrow-in-Furness for example.

Rich’s acclaimed BBC4 documentaries (most recently Rich Hall’s Red Menace) and his Radio 4 series Election Breakdown have established a whole new legion of followers. He’s also a stalwart of QI and Have I Got News For You. But seeing the Hoedown is a whole different experience. Gut-busting, rib-tickling, toe-tapping, and shit-kicking, Rich Hall’s Hoedown Deluxe covers the full anatomical spectrum.

Harry Baker: Unashamed

World Poetry Slam Champion Harry Baker had a lot of time to think about the important things in life during lockdown(s), and after initially penning reflective poems about missing hugging people he started making German pop bangers and reviewing toilet seats online.

He also very quickly realised how much he missed performing live to people! A show of new poems and realisations celebrating the little things in life that make us who we are, focussing on the connection at the heart of it all and what can happen if we lose that.

Including the story of how a spontaneous decision to run a marathon dressed as a falafel turned into a diss track to Chris Evans that raised £5000 for charity, it is his most playful, heartfelt, uplifting, unashamedly Harry Baker-y show yet.

Terry Alderton - It's Terry!

It’s Terry!!!

The Shock of the Old by Terence Blacker

Terence Blacker has been stressing over how to grow old happily and with style ever since he got his bus pass.

Months of lockdown have not improved his age-anxiety one bit. Looking around, he has discovered that the world is every bit as muddled about age in the 21st century as he is.

Just when you’re getting going in your life, it happens. You catch sight of your father in the mirror and realise that it’s you. You start listening to your old Mungo Jerry albums. You feel the need to contact school friends you haven’t seen for years – even the ones you never liked. You join the National Trust.

Is this it? The start of a slow slide into Oldsville - comfy slippers, fussing over your breakfast cereal, talking at the TV, with the occasional Saga cruise thrown in as a treat?!

In his funny and perceptive new show, Terence faces up to the joys and pains of the passing years with songs, quotes, and anecdotes. It’s as if Victor Meldrew met Tom Lehrer for a none-too-serious debate about the meaning of life.

The result is a spirit lifting and timely celebration of the art of not taking the ageing process lying down - about being, in the words of one of Terence's songs, 'not quite done'.

Does The Shock of the Old finally reveal the great secret of the coming of age? Possibly not, but Terence Blacker shares a world of fun, warmth and wisdom looking for it.

'A bitter-sweet - and yet ultimately life-affirming - show, full of humour and terrific songs (with wonderful guitar-playing), giving two fingers up to old age. Even if you hobble in, you’ll leave with a spring in your step' Virginia Ironside, Journalist, Agony Aunt and Author

'Melodic, funny, and with a touch of melancholy, Terence Blacker’s Shock of the Old blends sharp, knowing comedy with cracking tunes. You’re in for a treat' Craig Brown, Satirist

Mark Watson: This Can’t Be It

We've all had some pondering to do about the fragility of life recently, but don't worry, skinny national treasure Mark Watson has it covered.

At 41, he's halfway through his days on earth, according to the life expectancy calculator app he paid £1.49 for. That life is in the best shape in living memory... but one problem remains, and it really is a huge one.

Spiritual enquiry meets high-octane observational comedy as the 'Taskmaster' survivor, multi-award-winner and 'No More Jockeys' cult leader attempts to cram a couple of years of pathological overthinking into an evening of stand-up. Maybe we'll even solve the huge problem. Doubt it, though.

Mike Bubbins: Throwback

Mike Bubbins, star of hit podcast The Socially Distant Sports Bar, and of BBC television comedies Mammoth, Tourist Trap and The Unexplainers, unleashes THROWBACK, his first ever solo UK stand-up tour. And things may never be the same again.

THROWBACK is a powerful, thought-provoking, visceral hour of stand-up comedy, that pushes boundaries, defies neat descriptions and challenges the audience...

AS IF IT IS!

It’s actually an hour and a half of really funny stories, pretty impressive characterisations, possibly a song (he said he’ll see how that goes), a bit of nostalgia about the good old days, a bit of optimism about the good new days, and Mike generally having a laugh about life and not taking himself, or anything else, too seriously. Having said that, he may, at some point in the show, get very annoyed at berks, whether in the past, the present, or the future. Very annoyed.

So basically THROWBACK is a comedy show about Bubbins sharing, and bringing to life, the stuff that he finds funny. As comedy concepts go, it’s a pretty straightforward one, really.

‘They asked me to do a UK comedy tour, called THROWBACK...and so I did.’  Mike Bubbins
