Fairport Convention has been entertaining music lovers for over half a century, with 2023 being their 56th anniversary!
During that time the band that launched British folk-rock has seen many changes. But one thing has remained the same - Fairport’s passion for performance.
This year’s Autumn Tour concert will present a mix of long-established Fairport favourites and some surprises from albums old and new.
Fairport Convention have won a BBC Lifetime Achievement Award and Radio 2 listeners voted their ground-breaking album Liege & Lief 'The Most Influential Folk Album of All Time'. Their story has been celebrated with television documentaries on BBC Four and Sky Arts.
The band features founding member Simon Nicol on guitar and vocals, Dave Pegg on bass guitar and vocals, Ric Sanders on violin, Chris Leslie on bouzouki, mandolin, banjo, fiddle, and vocals
'Stuffing their set with a surprising amount of new material for a vintage act, Fairport are still clearly having fun and brought the house down.' The Guardian
'Fairport is an institution, a festival, purveyors of memories, and keepers of the folk flame. But most of all they are a brilliant live band.' Folk & Tumble

Imagine if you will, a heady mix of Queen, ELO, Elton John and all things 70s… then you have Cats in Space. A band brimming with majestic songs, boasting soaring vocal harmonies, power chord guitars, thundering drums and bass and huge, symphonic keyboards.
Landing on the UK Rock scene in 2015, they quickly built up a reputation as one of the finest Classic Rock bands to emerge this century and within a short space of time. With two critically acclaimed albums under their belts, they had toured the major UK arenas with Status Quo, Deep Purple and Thunder. They also featured with Phil Collins and Blondie at London’s Hyde Park.
Now it is time to ‘Kickstart The Sun’, a tour which began in 2022 and featured guest shows with Blue Oyster Cult. Performances roll on through 2023 as they head onto the biggest stages to date with a full two hour theatre-style show promoting the album. On release, this same album entered the UK National Rock Chart at number 1, made number 5 in the National Independent Chart and number 11 in the National Physical Album Chart.
Their musical history will guarantee to deliver an evening of original rock music that will leave you feeling triumphant and exhilarated as well as a ‘CAT convert’. The reviews and quotes are not hype. The band always delivers classic live shows (which continually gain overwhelming reviews from the British music press) and are about to go up another level!
