This class is particularly suited to beginners, those returning to yoga having had a break, those with specific injuries or conditions or even those that consider themselves to be of a ‘certain age’ that might need a less challenging approach. We will cover general breathing practises, the basic and gentler postures, together with general information and possible discussion around movement and the potential difficulties we might come up against.
The aim will be to relax and enjoy.
The yoga I teach is an evolution of nearly 30 years of practice and study, with a broad experience of many styles and teachers. In recent years I have been moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an ‘internal’ sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential and ‘felt’ approach, influenced by teachers who have been inspired by the teachings of Vanda Scaravelli.

This floral design course is for those who are new to floral design as well as those with some experience. They will be shown how to prepare flowers and foliage, how to create gifts and how to decorate a party, home or just for a pleasure.
Additional Information
Please note that the materials are not provided. Learners will need to bring their own Floristry materials such as flowers, foliage, scissors, containers and some other materials each session to be able to create their own floral design. I will advise them each month.

Align and Flow Yoga is influenced by the biomechanics and heart orientated philosophy of the Anusara Hatha style of yoga. With a specific alignment focus within the flow of postures the practice will tone and strengthen the body, improve posture and create more freedom in the body and mind resulting in a calm and relaxed state of being.
Each week there will be a different theme weaving its’ way through the session, but a typical class starts with breathing techniques to centre and ground, poses to warm up and then progresses to a fun and challenging mix of vinyasa and alignment yoga.
This class is designed to cultivate focus, stamina, strength, and flexibility. Leaving time at the end for a well-deserved relaxation.
Come prepared for an energising class that will also leave you feeling relaxed.

Choosing a different coloured paper for each session we explore how paper colour can be exploited as part of the composition. Within this we will look at line, tone, form, mark making, texture and pattern using a variety of drawing media. Initially working from still life objects, the first week from natural forms e.g. a sea shell or fruit, later in the course there will be an opportunity to draw a landscape in colour or make a portrait study using the three-crayon technique.
Some objects will be supplied for the first session or bring a natural form you would like to draw.
Please bring your own materials and scroll down for detailed info on what you will need.
Some papers will be available from the tutor at cost.
28 Feb - 4 Apr
12.30pm - 3.30pm
£120 per 6-week course
Suitable for 18+ years
Materials Info
We will experiment with coloured pastel papers and some smoother coloured drawing papers suitable for other drawing media. A small sample pack of papers for the first session (cost about £2.00) will be available from the tutor for the first session. Other coloured papers will also be available at cost.
Please bring: drawing board and clips or tape to hold your paper, putty eraser, plastic eraser, paper towel, spray fixative for chalky media (to be used outside only), craft knife or pencil sharpener, small piece of sandpaper, water pots if using pen and ink (plus brush for brush drawing with ink)
Drawing media: you will only need black and white for the first week
Choose from the following suggestions;
Dry media: charcoal and white chalk pastel, pastel pencil, conté crayon in black white and sanguine, any coloured pencil, or graphite pencil or block
Wet media: e.g. pen/stick/brush and ink, paint pen, black fine liner and brush pens
It would be good to have something from each list above. The different kinds of drawing media will be discussed at the first session. Don’t bring large tins and boxes of colour as we will be working in an almost monochrome way first of all gradually introducing more colour in the following weeks.

Choose from the following suggestions;

This class is suited to those who have been practising for at least 6. My intention for this class is to move our practise forward, explore different avenues and approaches to the traditional postures. We will be aiming to be going deeper into ‘awareness’ and ‘noticing’.
The yoga I teach is an evolution of over 20 years of practice and study, perhaps moving away from ‘external’ evaluation of the postures and moving towards an ‘internal’ sense of the postures, moving away from the more used traditional approach of systemised yoga to a more experiential approach. Whilst looking at traditional Hatha Yoga postures and pranayamas, I will be encouraging fun and freedom within the traditional structure, whilst taking into our awareness fundamental anatomical and functional aspects required by our bodies for maximum wellbeing benefits.

Singing is joyous and fun. It's also very good for your health, but it does require some training and understanding of what's going in your body to make that glorious sound! Rob Castell has been working professionally as a singer, musician and teacher for almost 20 years, having sung with his own award winning vocal group Barbershopera, as a lead in We Will Rock You and even in the official band for the Royal Wedding in 2011!

Sound Baths are deeply relaxing, anyone can join in. Lay down, cosy and I will share beautiful sounds of Gong, Tibetan bowls, Irish Drum ( Bodhran ), Rainstick, Sansula, Kochi chimes and more. Taking you on a journey into the heart of Sacred Sound.
As you relax and bathe in the healing vibrations, your body resonates within these pure tones and you begin to feel retuned and in harmony. Healing can happen at cellular level, our bodies, mind and emotions draw from the sounds the vibration that is needed to bring us into inner balance.
You will need to bring a yoga mat or blanket to lie on. A small cushion for under head comfort. A blanket to cover up. Anything else you want to bring to make a cosy nest. Eye mask if you use one.
I look forward to sharing Sacred Sound with you.
